Well, I just like to pen this down that God is alive, and aware of everything that happens to every human. The only problem is that God relates with you , based on your level of relationship with Him. That is, the closer you relate with Him, the closer He relates with you, and the farther you get from Him, the farther He gets from you. It's a really simple logic. One thing to understand is that God can never die, we can only make ourselves dead to God. He created all things, and was never bias, so anytime you feel that God is dead to you, just pause and think it all over again what you did that made God dead to you.
Remember the start of this text, God is air that is always and ever available to anyone that just breathe in and the only way you don't get this air is only when you refuse to breathe in and this leaves you dead gradually.
So, you see, the closer you get to God,the fresher and more abundant the air you breathe in. God's love is so tough that he loves blindly and unconditional, He made and gave us (His pet) His features to help us survive and strife in this jungle(life).
Every human loves and hates with passion, we love so many things and hate so many things. God just like us, loves so many and all things but hate just one thing(sin). Unfortunately, what the master hates most, happens to be the pet's favorite activity which causes breach in their relationship most times.
Imagine you have a pet, when it does something bad, you'd be forced to flog or chastise it. The same happens between God and man. And if this (pet) called man refuses to change the master is forced to let him go because He can't even stand flogging His unrepentant pet, ( at this point we begin to notice or feel God is dead) but believe me, God never leaves any of His pets, weather you're ( a lamb or a goat), He still provides and protect( that shows how great and unending His love is towards His pets).
So, here are tips you can follow if you really want to get closer to God, trust me, you are going to enjoy the ride..
Three Ways to Get Closer To God
1. Communicate to God through prayers:
Relationships without communication is dead. Communication is the fuel to keeps any relationship going. The moment there is lack of communication, problems arise. Same goes with our Human -God relationship, when we stop communicating with God, we start falling apart, we start getting further from God's love, which has a terrible effect on our lives. So to get close to God, we have to keep and maintain a good communication with Him. When you pray, Thank Him(He loves a heart that shows gratitude) it will increase the bond between you and God. Pray to Him when you need guidance(He will surely give you a lead). Pray to God in times of need(He will always be there for you).
2. Read and meditate on the word(Bible):
The Bible contains God's plan and purpose for our lives. Its only when we read and meditate on it that we get to discover what God has hidden for our lives, what troubles are ahead, how to overcome such troubles, how to live right etc. It contains virtually everything that concerns our lives, its like a manual to guide us through. Just like when you get a new gadget and don't know the purpose of a particular button, going through the manual will open your eyes to see what the button is meant to do and how to use use the button. So, make a habit to read the bible daily , as it will help you discover God and His intent for you even more, which will tighten the bond even more.
3. Serve others (Altruism):
When we serve others we feel more humane. Serving others is another way of serving God. The way we feel when we read or hear about people who did heroic act to us or to others, the same way God feels about us when we help others. Selfless service to others moves God, and this tightens the bond. It's another way of giving back what we got freely from God. Jesus already laid down an example when he washed the feet of his disciples, this shows us how good of a virtue this is and how important it is to follow prompt.
Serving others brings feelings of peace, happiness and fulfilment which you won't be able to get from anywhere. So, maybe next time you are feeling down or worried, you can just go out and help someone selflessly, you'd be surprised at how you feel afterwards.
Getting close to God is like an habit you have to cultivate. you have to learn how to praise him, worship him and speak to him. He is ever willing to have you back, all you have to do is just surrender totally to him. Let Him take over the steering of your life, and i bet you'd never regret it.
